KahaLex Privacy Notice
Scope and Application
This Privacy Notice applies to KahaLex at kahalex.kaharagia.org. KahaLex is a static reference site for Kaharagian legal codes. It does not require registration, does not provide a contact form, and does not accept user submissions of any kind.
This Notice forms an integral part of, and shall be read in conjunction with, the KahaLex Terms of Service.
Data Controller
The data controller is the Principality of Kaharagia, acting through the Office of Digital Government & Cybersecurity, Secretariat of State.
Categories of Personal Data Processed
Browsing KahaLex
- IP address and approximate technical metadata of the device making the request
- Pages and Reference Texts requested and timestamps
- Search queries entered into the on-site search (where the User uses search)
- Referrer URL where transmitted by the browser
KahaLex does not request or process any other personal data and has no contact, comment, or submission channels of its own.
Cookies
KahaLex does not set tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. The site may use a small number of strictly necessary cookies or local storage entries for ordinary site functionality (such as remembering a chosen presentation preference); these are not used for any other purpose.
Legal Basis for Processing
Performance of Public Administration Functions: operating a public reference for the laws of the Principality.
Compliance with Legal Obligations: security logging, audit, and law enforcement cooperation.
Legitimate Interests: protecting the security and integrity of the Service.
Purpose Limitation
Browsing logs and search queries are used only for security, abuse detection, and operational diagnostics. They are not used for behavioural profiling, marketing, or any commercial purpose.
Data Retention
Browsing logs are retained under standard rotation, longer where required for an ongoing security investigation. The site itself, comprising the published Reference Texts, is not personal data and has no retention period.
Security Measures
- Encryption in transit using current TLS standards
- Disk-level encryption of underlying storage
- No persistent user state, accounts, or submission channels, minimal attack surface
Data Sharing and Disclosure
Browsing data is not shared with third parties save where required by Kaharagian law or by lawful judicial or law enforcement request.
International Hosting and Data Transfers
KahaLex is currently hosted on technical infrastructure located in the Federal Republic of Germany, with the associated domain registered through a registrar also based in the Federal Republic of Germany. Hosting and registrar arrangements may change over time as operational requirements evolve.
Such arrangements do not alter the governing law applicable to personal data, which remains subject exclusively to Kaharagian data protection law.
Rights of Data Subjects
Subject to applicable legal provisions, data subjects may exercise the rights afforded by Kaharagian law. In practice, the very limited personal data processed by KahaLex (browsing logs only) is the principal subject of any such rights request.
