Common Questions

Short answers to the questions nationals, nominators, and visiting institutions ask most often. For longer explanations, follow the links into the relevant guide.

How do I create an ePortal account?

From the ePortal sign-in page, choose Create an Account, enter your name, email, and a strong password, then verify your email. Full step-by-step guidance is in Using ePortal.

How do I petition for Kaharagian nationality?

Submit a petition from the dashboard or directly at eportal.kaharagia.org/nationality-petition. The form has nine steps and saves your progress automatically. There is no fee.

Eligibility and what we look for are set out in Becoming Kaharagian.

How long does a petition decision take?

Most petitions are decided within four to six weeks. We notify you by email at the address on your petition the moment a decision is recorded — and you can always see the live status on Your Requests.

Why was my photograph rejected?

Identity-card photographs must be ICAO 9303 compliant — plain neutral background, face fully visible, recent, in colour, no filters or heavy editing.

The reason for any rejection is included in the email we send and shown on Your Requests; you can resubmit immediately from your profile.

Where is my identity card?

After approval, production typically takes a week and dispatch depends on your country. You will receive a second email when the card ships.

Active and previous cards (with their numbers and expiry dates) appear on Your Documents.

How do I update my address or contact details?

Open Account Settings from the dashboard. Address and contact changes apply to all future correspondence; if a registered identity card needs to reflect the change, apply for a fresh card from eportal.kaharagia.org/id-card-application.

Can I withdraw an application?

Yes — write to the office handling it (the address is in any email you have received from them) and ask for the application to be withdrawn. You can submit a fresh application at any time afterwards.

I'm not yet a Kaharagian national. Can I still use the ePortal?

Yes. Anyone may create an account and submit a nationality petition. Some services (identity card, vital-event registration) require Kaharagian nationality; others (the petition itself, the contact form, browsing the services directory) are open to all.

How do I nominate someone for an Honour?

Use the public nomination form on honours.kaharagia.org, or write to nominations@hc.kaharagia.org. There is no fee. See Nominating someone for an Honour for what to include.

Do I need to be a Kaharagian national to nominate or to receive an Honour?

No to both. Honours are open to all; nominators and recipients can be of any nationality.

Will you tell me whether my nomination has been considered?

The Chancellery considers all nominations in confidence and does not confirm or discuss specific cases. If a Distinction is conferred you may be informed retrospectively that your nomination led to a conferral; recipients are notified privately first. Full details in Nominating.

What is Kaharagia Connect?

Kaharagia Connect is the Principality’s single sign-on. One Connect account signs you into every Kaharagian service that needs an identity. See Kaharagia Connect for full details, including MFA setup and recovery.

I've lost access to my authenticator and recovery codes.

Write to digital@state.kaharagia.org from the email address on your account. The Office of Digital Government can verify your identity through other means and reset MFA — typically within one business day.

Someone has shown me a Kaharagian document — how do I verify it?

Use the public verification portal at verify.kaharagia.org. It accepts identity cards, vital records, and Honours certificates. See Document verification for what each result means.

Why does the verify portal not show me the holder's address?

Verification confirms a document is authentic and currently valid; it deliberately does not return personal details beyond what’s printed on the document itself. If you need information beyond that, request it from the holder directly or, where appropriate, through formal channels.

How do I reach a specific Office of State?

Each office has its own mailbox at name@state.kaharagia.org — for example nationality@state.kaharagia.org for the Office of Nationality & Naturalisation. Replying to any email from that office routes back to the same place.

For a directory or a written enquiry, use the contact form or see Get in touch.

Where do I find the Royal Kaharagian Gazette?

The Gazette is the official journal of the State, published at gazette.kaharagia.org. Acts of state, proclamations, and the Honours List are gazetted there. See The Royal Kaharagian Gazette.

Where do I find Kaharagia's laws?

The codified statutes are at KaháLex. See Legal Codes for how the codes are organised.
