Section titled “Legal Codes — KaháLex”The Principality’s statutes are codified and published at KaháLex. KaháLex is the canonical, openly accessible source of Kaharagian law.
How the codes are organised
Section titled “How the codes are organised”The codes follow a numbered structure familiar from continental European traditions: each code has a domain (Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Administrative, etc.) and is divided into Books, Titles, Chapters, and Articles.
A reference like KhCC art. 142 points to Article 142 of the Kaharagian Civil Code.
Acts vs. codes
Section titled “Acts vs. codes”- Acts (gazetted in the Royal Kaharagian Gazette) are individual instruments signed by the Sovereign. The Gazette is the legally significant moment of promulgation.
- Codes (in KaháLex) are the codified, consolidated versions of the law incorporating amendments from successive acts. The codes are kept up to date but are not themselves the moment of promulgation.
When the two diverge (typically briefly, after an act and before codification catches up), the gazetted text controls.
Open access
Section titled “Open access”KaháLex requires no account and carries no fee. Every article is permalinkable and citable.
