Create a K-Connect account
K-Connect is the single sign-on for Kaharagian digital services. With one K-Connect account, you can access the ePortal, manage your record, and use any future service that requires authentication. Creating an account is free.
What you need before you start
- A working email address you control
- A password you are comfortable using only for K-Connect
- A few minutes to receive and click an email confirmation link
You do not need to provide identity documents at the moment of registration. Identity verification is a separate, later step covered in Verify your identity.
The registration steps
- Go to connect.kaharagia.org and choose Register.
- Enter your email address and choose a strong password. The form will tell you if your password is too weak.
- Submit the form. K-Connect will send a verification email to the address you provided.
- Open the verification email and click the confirmation link. The link is valid for a limited time; if it expires, you can request a new one from the login screen.
- Once verified, you can log in. On first login you may be prompted to set up a recovery method (see below).
If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder. If it still has not arrived, return to the registration screen and request a new verification email.
Set up a second factor and recovery codes
K-Connect supports several second factors for stronger protection of your account:
- Authenticator app (TOTP): codes generated every 30 seconds by an app like Google Authenticator, 1Password, or Bitwarden
- WebAuthn / passkeys: hardware security keys or a passkey on your device
- Email one-time code: a fallback delivered to the email on file
You can add and remove second factors at any time from your account security settings. We strongly recommend setting at least one second factor.
When you do, K-Connect will offer recovery codes: short single-use codes you can keep somewhere safe (a password manager or a printed copy) in case you lose access to your second factor. Save them. They are the only way to recover an account if every other factor is unavailable.
Naming your account
The name on your K-Connect account is for your reference and the State's. It does not need to match a legal name yet, that comes during identity verification. Use whatever name you wish to be addressed by; you can change it later.
What an account does and does not do
Creating a K-Connect account:
- Does not confer any Kaharagian status, nationality, or residency
- Does not entitle you to any honour, decoration, or recognition
- Does give you the means to interact with Kaharagian digital services as a known, authenticated person
Status, recognition, and entitlements are matters of substantive Kaharagian law and depend on processes outside of account creation.
Common problems
- "I never received the verification email." Try checking your spam folder, then request a new email from the login screen. If your email provider blocks K-Connect, contact us so we can investigate.
- "My password isn't accepted." K-Connect requires a password long and varied enough to resist common attacks. The form will indicate what is missing.
- "I lost my password." Use the password-reset link on the login screen. You will need access to the email on file.
- "I lost my email and my second factor." Use a recovery code if you saved one. If not, contact support, recovery without any factor is intentionally difficult.
Next
Once your account is active, see Your first login to ePortal for what to do next, and Verify your identity when you are ready to be recognised by the State.
